    VIA Rail Canada is currently seeking 10 On-Train Service Attendants for our Toronto Terminal.

    People with experience in the restaurant, hospitality or airline industry are invited to apply!

    Based in Toronto - Ontario, you will make the routes of Toronto-Montréal, Toronto-Windsor or Toronto-Niagara.

    Contributing to their pleasurable trip, you will provide passengers with a comfy and safe experience:
    * welcoming and guiding them to their cabin or seat
    * giving safety instructions
    * helping with baggage
    * serving meals (including meat)
    * serving beverages (including alcoholic beverages)
    * selling snacks and refreshments
    * ensuring the tidiness and cleanliness of the bedrooms and work areas

    Some important pragmatic details about the job:

    Interviews will be held in Toronto the week of August 14th, 2017.

    PERMANENT POSITION

    SCHEDULE
    You are available to work:
    * on variable schedule including weekends and holidays and on call (no guaranteed hours)
    * for extended periods (approx. 1-3 days) away from home

    TRAINING
    You will follow a five-week training session which must be successfully completed before obtaining the position.
    You must be available for September 18th, 2017.

    SALARY
    during training: $12.20/hour
    once position obtained: $21.89/hour
    Requirements :
    You are well-suited for this challenge if you:
    * have a strong ability to communicate with a smile, both in English and French
    * possess a High School Diploma
    * have a minimum of one year of customer service experience, ideally in food service industry, restaurant or airline company as a flight attendant
    * must be physically able to lift weights up to 23kg

    We are looking for one of our client a Maintenance Supervisor

    the maintenance supervisor is Responsible for the development and competencies of maintenance employees as it relates to performing activities within the maintenance program.

    The Maintenance supervisor must support the Health Safety and Environment committees as it relates to departmental safety, environmental targets.

    Manage equipment reliability, material and infrastructure resources within departmental cost controls and budgeting all while providing safe and timely service of trains.

    Ensure maintenance employees are properly oriented and trained to perform tasks prescribed within the Maintenance program.

    Liaise with third party contractors and suppliers to meet Plant equipment and/or repair needs.

    SCHEDULE:
    You must be available to cover the evening/night shift or any other type of schedule. (variable shift work)

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    * Strong Leadership required
    * Experience supervising staff and working with diverse trades within a Union Environment
    * Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
    * Financial and budget management skills.
    * Excellent multitasking and time management skills
    * Able to meet deadlines.
    * Able to accept after-hours calls and responsibilities and respond to urgent situations
