    Job requires a minimum of 1-2 years of experience running and programming a CNC lathe and working with calipers, micrometers and other measurement devices. Client is willing to train on how to perform and record lab test results.

    The hourly pay rate is $22.00. Working hours are Monday-Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM plus overtime. Requires clean background and drug screen.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    In charge of managing engineering projects.

    Capital appropriation requests; purchase orders and goods receipts
    Manage and supervise contractors and vendors throughout project execution

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree required.
    At least one year progressive experience managing projects of complexity.
    Excellent knowledge of sound techniques in area of responsibility.
    Prefer very strong financial acumen, including capabilities in project governance and risk assessment, budget management, and the ability to organize and balance resources across project goals.
    Ability to partner with the business community to identify specific goals and/or issues, determine the appropriate course of action, and drive initiatives to ensure results.
    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, technical writing, verbal communication and presentation skills, and the abilities to lead less senior Project Managers
    Knowledge of and experience with technology tools to support the function including excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite environment.

    * Work with vessel level sensing equipment
    * Assemble filters, flanges and gaskets to correct torque specs
    * Transition projects to commissioning teams (either internal or customer)

    Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
    * 5+ years of experience in a similar role
    * Instrumentation Diploma OR Journeyman Qualification in Instrumentation or Industrial Plumbing
    * Ability to read Mechanical and Electrical schematic drawings
    * Aptitude for and experience with training and mentoring team members
    * Familiarity of requirements working in and ISO environment
    * Self-Starter with a strong customer service focus
    * Team player with a positive can do attitude

    VIA Rail Canada Inc., Canada's national passenger rail service, is currently seeking candidates to fill 1 qualified Diesel Engine Mechanic position, to work at it's Vancouver Maintenance Center.

    As a Diesel Engine Mechanic, you will carry out preventive maintenance and running repairs on locomotives and rolling stock. Utilizing your skills and Via Rail Standards, maintenance manuals and tools, determine the causes of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic defects on the locomotives and perform the repair. You will also conduct inspections and maintenance on the locomotives in compliance with VIA's preventive maintenance program in order to continually surpass Transport Canada's standards.

    The position is permanent (40 hours per week) and the work schedule may vary (day, evening, night, week-end and holidays). Candidates must be available to work any day of the week as the Maintenance Center is open 7 days a week during peak season. Shifts may start as early as 7:30 am and end as late as midnight.

    Hourly salary: $27.72 - $33.42 - depending on experience
    Evening shift differential: $0.75/H
