    What is the job?

    * Prepare aseptic and non-aseptic media for other groups within QO
    * Perform Environmental Monitoring in production areas
    * Monitor processes and alert supervisory personnel of known or suspected quality problems

    * Practice basic aseptic laboratory procedures as per training and SOPs
    * Apply Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) to assigned work
    Learn and comply with regulatory requirements such as USDA, FDA, EU
    * Understand and use production schedules
    * Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies etc.

    What do you bring to the role?

    * College degree in biological sciences/chemistry
    * Aseptic lab experience is helpful, but not required
    * Competent using Windows based applications

    * Conduct entire spectrum of sequencing data generation from sample management and processing
    * RNA/DNA extraction
    * Sample preparation for analysis and sequencing

    Do you have industrial experience in a research and development setting? Can you demonstrate a mechanical skill set? Manpower is looking for laboratory technicians to assist a leading producer of industrial minerals, including sand proppants, whole grain silica, ground silica, fine ground silica and aplite clay.

    This temporary to permanent position will operate on regular business hours. The laboratory technicians will perform sample testing, support development of mimic testing, maintain a laboratory notebook, schedule maintenance of test equipment, and perform other duties to assist in developing new products and business opportunities.

    Lab environment experience is preferred since the working environment will include hazardous chemicals, dust and odors. The ideal candidate will have PC skills, specifically MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Other skills include but are not limited to, organization, time management and strong customer focus. Pay will be dependent upon experience and although a degree is not required, it is preferred.

    * Collect, prepare, analyze, and report results for test samples of bulk product, finished product and raw materials.
    * Work towards learning all primary analytical methods and processes, and Gain a basic understanding of operating procedures of all instrumentation utilized in the lab.
    * Organize and prioritize daily work to ensure that routine testing is performed in a timely manner and that all deadlines are met.
    * Maintain current (time of analysis), complete, and legible laboratory records per GMP regulations.
    * Communicate issues encountered with work assignments to team and Management as soon as possible.
    * Contribute to a collaborative working relationship with others in the group.

    * Maintain lab in a clean, organized, and safe state
    * Communicate clearly and ensure paperwork is complete between shifts.
    * Work safely with hazardous materials.
    * Flexibility to work in other QC labs as needed.
    * Must be able to work weekends and off-shifts

    Candidate should possess a BA or BS in a life science, preferably Chemistry or Biology, or a High School Degree with equivalent laboratory skill and expertise. Experience in a QC and/ or QA function is preferred. Experience in laboratory and office computer systems is preferred. The ability to organize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously is a must. Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team, and communicate in both written and verbal format is a necessity.
