    Black Priorities Project Organizer
    $21.67 per hour (full time)

    Qualifications:
    * Preferably from Bayview Hunter's Point or very familiar with the county of San Francisco and the surrounding region, including - local history, geography of the city / neighborhoods, knowledge of various organizations, political issues and players etc. strongly preferred
    * Commitment to building a base of Black power in the Bay Area
    * Strong commitment to building Black and Brown unity, social, racial, gender and economic justice
    * Experience leading a team &/or supervision preferred
    * Knowledge of Black community history, conditions and community organizing
    * Enthusiasm to learn and develop your skills as an organizer
    * Willingness to learn, to communicate needs and challenges, to receive criticism and be self-critical in the development of leadership and job performance
    * Strong personal organization skills
    * An ability to follow organizational leadership and take leadership in making suggestions/interventions informed from the base building work as needed to build the project
    * Valid drivers' license, insurance and vehicle preferred as the position involves work in different areas of the Bay Area
    * Basic computer skills - familiarity with Word, Excel and web browsers required and Google Calendar & Google Drive, graphic design programs &/or social media platforms preferred

    Responsibilities:
    * Implements base-building plans, tools, and goals
    * Ensures a consistent practice in outreach and base building for the project
    * Supports the development of and implements systems for member retention and consistent follow-up with contacts and members
    * Works with members and staff team to evaluate and assess the opportunities for "mini campaigns" and makes strategic and tactical calls with member leaders and staff team about how to most effectively engage and support the leadership of our base in exerting their rights
    * Works with members and staff to implement campaign plans
    * Works with members and staff to plan and implement campaign tactics
    * Supervises outreach team members (both paid and volunteer)
    * Facilitates and coordinates logistics for "Know Your Rights Workshops" in Oakland and SF
    * Conducts regular one-on-ones and supervision with members and leaders
    * Responsible for the logistics and turnout for the BPP member committee - that brings together grassroots leaders to help to shape and direct the goals and outcomes of the project
    * Develops plans to develop the leadership (skills, analysis, and capacity) of the grassroots leaders in the project
    * Trains members and interns in base building, member retention skills, analysis, and facilitation/training skills
    * Participates in coalitional activities and campaigns as part of the BPP and the Community Rights Campaign
