Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for quoting and designing equipment, leading projects, working with trades-people and sub-contractors, and creating customized solutions for the company's clients.
The Project Engineer is responsible for the design of mechanical parts and the assembly and selection of mechanical and electrical components as necessary to meet the objectives for each assigned project. All work is performed with attention to relevant fuel-safety and electrical standards, fulfillment of customer specifications, and installation requirements. The successful candidate will be comfortable leading or participating as part of a team and will take accountability for the timely completion of projects.
*Quote and design Firefighter Training Systems, including propane and wood fueled training systems;
*Engineer and design breathing gas systems for life-support / life-saving devices;
*Project leadership will include ensuring projects are completed to standard in a timely fashion and in accordance with customer expectations.
Other duties include:
*Work in a multi-disciplinary team which has the responsibility for the manufacture and installation of complete projects;
*Work with third-party inspectors / authorities-having-jurisdiction for field inspections and approvals;
*Provide Operator and Maintenance Training, presenting in front of classes of customers/trainees;
*Adheres to all safety requirements in all aspects of work
Education & Skills Required:
*Bachelor of Science (Engineering) required.
*Professional License (P.Eng.) required.
*Minimum two (2) years' experience in product design and engineering, preferably involving applications in industrial environments. Strong trade- knowledge in mechanical and electrical fields is an asset.
*Ability to travel to customer sites (national or international) for installations, training, and meetings. Travel may be approximately 20-30% of the job.
*Must be highly organized, possess strong communications skills, is customer-focused and has the ability to multi-task over various projects in a fast-paced environment
*Proficient use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT), CAD skills (AutoCAD/SolidWorks)
