    Job Title: Design Department Team Leader
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
    Reports To: Operations Manager
    Salaried position + benefits and perks

    Position Overview: Reporting to the Operations Manager, the incumbent will lead a team of 4-5 designers focusing on customer satisfaction in relation to timely response to requests, accuracy of information and correct costs. Work closely with plant operations to ensure project requirements are being communicated properly and on track to be completed before deadlines. Will manage the job flow through the design department and assign jobs as required. Will provide feedback to management as required related to job status, issues in the department or any other items impacting department performance.

    * Supervises and leads Design team through completion of daily workflow
    * Project Management experience
    * Work with clients as required
    * Source materials as required to meet requirements in a cost-effective manner
    * Coordinate with other departments
    * Participates in Preflight meetings with other departments to accurately plan out the job process and requirements
    * Provide cost estimations on projects flowing through area
    * Works under minimum supervision
    * Completes work within expected period of time
    * Works safely to avoid injuries, reports any workplace hazards immediately to management
    * Communicate to management any issues that may impact the ability to meet a deadline or jeopardize the quality of the product or relationship with customer
    * Work efficiently on all assigned tasks to contribute to reduced lead times
    * complete requests from management that may be outside of your normal daily duties
    * Participate in cross training as requested
    * Create graphic templates
    * Generate set up instructions for all custom jobs
    * Share any input or ideas you may have to contribute to the Companies success

    Education and Knowledge Requirements
    * Previous experience leading a team in a similar capacity - previous design experience CAD, + related industry experience in Displays, Trade Show Booth design
    - Project Management experience
    * Related Post-secondary education or equivalent skills
    * Strong CAD experience a must
    * Excellent English communication skills
    * Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, Vector Works, other design software programs
    * Keen attention to detail

    What is the job?
    - Create and fill custom designer and sample box requests per appropriate inventory
    - Organize and maintain library of design inventory
    - Prepare monthly scrap bin and sales

    - Communicate with showrooms and sales representatives regarding launch package contents, shipping details and collateral
    - Remove inventory from ERP as needed for special projects, events and tradeshows

    - Act as backup to other positions as requested, based on project schedule

    This hands-on creative contributor will lead the training strategy, as well as design and development of deliverables for a new product rollout. This role will conduct research on existing and emerging technologies and learning & development trends that will be integrated into our training approach and deliverables. A high-level of experience with video and course design & development will make this role successful, along with a creative viewpoint to bring new strategies and deliverables to our field will be an integral aspect of this role. The ability to partner with and establish cross-organization relationships, while keeping a focus on integration and user experience for our learners is a top priority.
    Skills & Accountabilities:
    * Consults with all levels of field and home office personnel, including senior management, and synthesizes various data and analyzes information, in order to identify training needs of Managing Partners, Managing Directors, all models of Financial Representatives, Field staff, DNOS, and Field leadership.
    * Leads and takes ownership for developing more complex training strategies and deliverables.
    * Takes lead in determining and documenting training objectives, and researches, designs, develops, and implements field training projects, in order to develop field and to sustain and enhance productivity.
    * Determines what type of media is most effective in meeting training needs (online course, facilitator-led course, podcast, video, school, written materials, etc.).
    * Ensures the target audience's training needs are met, while working within project deadlines and allocated budget.
    * Experience with developing in various authoring tools, specifically Storyline 360.
    * Project management experience is required.
    * Learning Management System (SuccessFactors) knowledge is helpful.
    This role will be integral for the rollout of the new Life Plus series in terms of training and development for the field.

    This role will work with all team members to update and implement new and existing model enhancements in VBA. Develops and tests Actuarial Financial Model utilities in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Performs thorough testing of model changes in both VBA and C++. Works with model developers to improve and enhance existing financial projection models in terms of efficiency and accuracy.
    * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
    * Extensive experience with visual basic for applications (VBA) coding including the building of DLLs
    * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with immediate team members and other members of the department
    * Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
    * Strong initiative and ability to work independently
    * Moderate levels of exposure to C++
    * Strong attention to detail
    * Strong math skills
