POSITION TITLE: Material Planning Analyst
Duties is to design, handle and optimize the supply chain for all "COMPANIES" brands. The scope for "COMPANIES" includes making sure material is delivered to the production facilities, packaging is available, vehicles are distributed to the dealers, and that management of material and distribution centers ensures the availability of parts everywhere in the world. Make sure all logistics services are delivered with world class operational excellence.
Mission/Purpose of the Position:
This position is responsible for inventory levels and fill rates in the aftermarket parts distribution system. Frequent, effective and accurate communication with outside suppliers and internal departments such as Purchasing, Customer Service, Parts Marketing, Spare Parts Engineering, Distribution, and the production facilities is essential. Extensive planning, forecasting, negotiation and the coordination of delivery schedules will ultimately provide measurable targets such as fill rates, turn rates, back-order lines and dollars.
The Analyst must be flexible and multi-task oriented as priorities change from day-to-day in a fast paced environment. The ability to extract data, understand, analyze, and determine necessary courses of action in an independent, professional, and timely manner is the key to achieving the customer-focused objectives of this position. This individual will also be relied upon to take the initiative to solve problems in ways that are creative and self-determined.
Communicate Materials Management's expectations and logistics demands to achieve continuous improvements in quality, lead-time and costs.
Maintain parts database to ensure the latest parts information is accurate and available in a timely manner. Also, perform order handling/expediting functions, daily parts maintenance (such as registering new parts, supersessions, and parts requisitions to purchasing, loading ship dates) will be necessary.
Maintain the stock profile of a range of parts within the pre-set objectives (such as stock value, fill rate, stock turnover rate, scrapping activity, backorder data, etc.).
*Conduct continual reviews of suppliers' performance and corrective activity plans by means of logistics' evaluations, statistics, meetings, presentations, and other relevant communication.
*Identify and report supply chain related problems in day-to-day activities in an effort to increase overall efficiency and productivity.
*Provide effective customer-focused responses in a timely manner to internal/external customers.
*Prepare, create, analyze reports and statistics as required/directed by management (such as cost analysis, quantitative analysis, supplier performance, etc.).
*Resolve internal/external parts discrepancies with distribution centers and suppliers.
*Serve as liaison between customer service, product support, and purchasing.
*Participate in cross functional/cultural teams.
*Remain abreast of product knowledge.
*Other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
College degree in relevant field or 3 years' experience in Inventory Management, Production Planning or Purchasing.
Strong knowledge of PC applications required, especially Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Microsoft Access desirable.
The working hours are 8 hour days either starting at 7:00am or 8:00am until 4:00pm or 5:00pm. The rate of pay is $20.00 per hour. This is a long term opportunity.
